back saver I use this in a 4 x 12 aluminum boat and it moves the boat with ease. June 21, 2012
Durable and Compact I bought this for a 7ft dinghy with a trolling motor that I use on a lake. This paddle is lightweight, compact, and extremely durable. The boat hook feature has proved adept at retrieving snagged lures, getting the boat away from submerged trees, and navigating the ship around docks. If you need an auxilliary paddle or oar, you might as well get one you'll use--this is it. July 19, 2009
Good Paddle I purchased this paddle for my pontoon boat and am very happy with it. It is fairly light weight but seems very durable. I particularly like the hand grip hole in the paddle blade and the hook/grip which allows the paddle to be used as a boat hook. Very good design. July 10, 2014
Great Paddle I bought two of these as a saftey measure to have in my power boat in case the motor ever went out to have as backup. I put them in the ski compartment and they are they if I ever need them. Great because you can telescope them out to match your size or reach over the side of your boat. I would recommend these. does this paddle float?

Thank you for your question!

This paddle will float for a short period of time due to the aluminum tubular shaft. The air in the shaft will allow it to float until water gets into the shaft. Beyond that point it will sink.

Yes, I dropped my paddle in the water and it floats for a while, maybe a minute or two. It eventually fills with water and sinks, but I think it floats long enough to retrieve it if you accidently drop it in the water.
