I have owned a LOT of weapons throughout my life, so I can tell you from a great deal of experience the truth about them. I purchased this one not too long ago to add to my already large collection, but this one isn't going behind glass or stuck in a vault. This one is staying at my right hand where I live and work. Despite the power some of my other weapons boast, this one truly houses the most destructive force of all of them. It doesn't have near the range of my Dan Wesson .357 which I'm very proficient at 200 yards, in fact I wouldn't recommend use of this one beyond 25 yards. Mine is also a little different from the one on sale here. Mine has a 3" cylinder instead of 2.5" and my barrel is only 3" as well. The advantage to having the longer cylinder is that it will take Winchester .410 3 inch loads. These have 4 "defense disks" and 16 plated pellets. That's a far cry from the 2.5 cylinders shown on the model here. This round is massively destructive. There is no "nice" way to put it. The draw back, is that on mine you can't use 45APC rounds as well as .45 Colt Long. You can ONLY use 45 Colt longs on mine. That's ok with me, because I reload anyway, and I'm not interested in purchasing yet another set of dies to load rounds that have less power. I'll stick with the .45 Colt and the 3" Winchester Defender .410 rounds. So the point is think real hard about which weapon you want. If you want the most destructive weapon made with a range of 25yards I would recommend you have Bass Pro order you up the 3" cylinder Judge. You will not find anything on the legal market that is more lethal.

If I could only have 1 handgun, the Judge would be it. I hunt where there are LOTS of snakes (I've killed over 20 moccasins so far this year). The .410 handles them well. The Home Defense Loads/Buckshot/.45 loads are all great for home defense. Just shoot the Home defense load at a jug of water and watch the damage!

This is the most awesome gun i have ever fired. imagine shooting a 45 long colt accurately, and than for the fun of it, firing off a few .410 shotgun shells from the same gun? Worht every penny spent....
