Rugged and durable, the Taurus Tracker 627 Revolver with Adjustable Sights is a great protection choice for outdoorsmen who enjoy spending time in areas with bears and other big predators. This rock solid, accurate revolver features factory tuned porting with gas expansion chamber at the end of its 4'' barrel to reduce recoil to comfortable levels. Durable stainless steel frame and cylinder. Low mount adjustable sights. Taurus' exclusive Ribber Grip overlay provides a comfortable, customized feel for every user and every hand size. Locking Taurus Security System and transfer bar safety for extra peace of mind.

Rated 5 out of 5 by Reliable, Solid 357 Magnum This is a very reliable, solid, .357Magnum revolver. The cylinder holds 7 rounds, which is a plus, but the most appreciated feature are the RibberGrips. They are comfortable and provide a solid feeling of control while damping the recoil of full loads to easily manageable and comfortable-to-fire levels. With the RibberGrips the perceived recoil seems to me to be not much more than my solid handled 9mm hand gun. When firing the Taurus Tracker by pulling the trigger, it is smooth and consistent in the draw. If you cock the hammer beforehand to fire, the trigger is crisp and definite. The sights have so far proven themselves to be rugged. The stainless steel finish cleans up well, even after a long shooting session. My only complaint would be that the barrel porting is hard to get completely clean. In my personal opinion, this firearm seems to "prefer" any round between 125grain up to 180grain. I've noted that lighter grain rounds (either in .357 or .38Special) tend to shoot a little more "dirty" from this firearm, with more cleanup being required between the cylinder facing as well as in the barrel ports. This is a firearm that I would and have recommended to others. It's a solid, reliable gun with dependable consistency. ------- And if you look around in some of the better gun shops, you will be able to find 7-round speed loaders for it, although you may have to ask them to order them in. But they are available! January 6, 2012
