I bought this because I liiked the idea of a solid one-piece scope mount. Put this on a Thompson Impact Muzzleloader. I went with the medium height and it gives you enough height for thumb clearance with the hammer to be let down. I think the rings should be positioned about 3/4" further away from the shooter and toward the muzzle.
