Rated 4.7 out of 5 by 22 reviewers.
Rated 4 out of 5 by Nice Sturdy Hatches But! These are pretty nice hatches that install rather easily. I'm happy with them as they give me access to store things in areas that were previously inaccessible. One word of caution for the installation. The template that is supplied on the box has corner radius's that are much smaller than the radius of the actual hatch recess that goes into the cutout. If you make your cuts per the template you will not have enough material to screw in the (4) corner screws. I would suggest that you do not use the template and trace the actual hatch where you want you cut out and make you cut-out to that. I used the supplied template and could only use 4 of the eight screw holes as there was no material for the corner screws. Although (4) screws is more than sufficient to hold the the hatches in place I would have like the template to be right. April 21, 2013
Rated 5 out of 5 by hatches Very durable and well made product u get what u pay for. It also comes with flanges so openings must be precise. That said I cut off flanges on one side for instillation and product was still extremely durable. April 17, 2013
Rated 3 out of 5 by Size inaccurate The listed size is 13.5x17.5. In reality it is 13x17. A real bummer as I needed the extra 1/2 inch. Had to send it back. It's quality is obvious. I just wish the catalogue sizes were accurate. March 12, 2013
Rated 5 out of 5 by Very strudy and good quality I ordered the 29 3/4 length item and found out it was backordered. No biggie. I chatted online with a BassPro rep and changed my order for a smaller hatch (23 3/4 one) that was in stock. This was changed right away and I got the hatch in tow days. I was very happy for BPs quick response. Now to the hatch. The cut out template was perfect and I got my hatch installed in little time. The hatch is very sturdy and good quality. I would buy another hatch if I ever need one. March 2, 2013

You can figure 12 to 16 inches off of the total height of the Power Pole. Brackets figure in on this due to the offsets involved.

I just mounted 3 on my bay boat but they were on a horizontal surface. However, when opened all the way, they did not seem to put any undue stress on the hinges. That being said, I don't know why you couldn't mount them vertically. Mine were the 13x24 so can't vouch for any other size.
