This rod holder is to light to hold any type of pole let alone a deep sea rod. I even placed a wrench in it and within no time the wrench was laying on the deck of the boat.

The holder is far too light for any fishing poles other than a childs ultra-light tackle. The assembly instructions were good, the holder is just too light. I would never troll with this holder.

I wanted an extra set of rod holders for my Ranger 620 with out drilling holes into the fiberglass hull. The Fentress rod holders mounted nicely to the front rails on the bow. If the price was a little lower I would give it a 5 out of 5 rating, for now 4 out 5.

Attached them to my boat rails in minutes. Easy to install and they work great on my last fishing trip.I purchased 2 and may buy 2 more, but the price seems a bit high so I will have to wait and hopefully they will go on sale. Would be 5 stars if the price were lower
