Rated 2 out of 5 Too expensive for the money
OK product at first, yet I I had this product less than two years before the hydraulics no longer worked.

"This product will work great "until" it is exposed to a saltwater enviroment for any length of time.
As other s/w reviewers have stated - if you leave your boat in the water, or fish alot, & don't take the pedestals inside & spray down the base pin & the interior cylinder post - rust, corrosion, & the unit locking up will be the result.
I have 2 chairs on my rear casting deck of my Bay Boat & I've been through 3 sets of 2 of the Swivl-Eze Power Post & Adjustable Seat Mounts, and all 6 have ended up in the dumpster - I should have stopped at the 1st set.
This is the type of product that should be well marked - "Not for use in Saltwater"."

I love this pedestal. It works perfect with my lean seat. Being able to adjust the height allows me to stay comfortable all day on the water. However, after 2 years of use I did have one pedestal that wouldn't hold it's hydraulics anymore. Not sure if the fluid leaked or what. Took it to BPS for an exchange with no problems. Don't know if I just got unlucky or if all of them will mess up over time.

You have to be careful not to let pedestal sit up after use without lubricating. If moisture gets into inner cavity it will rust and seize. Even worse if using around saltwater. The price may be a bit high for the product

I'm confused by the threaded or standard model. I have a Swivl-Eze that twist in to the base to secure. My seat just drops into my current pedestal; no twisting, but I'm looking for an adjustable model to change seat height. Thanks.Answers
A:Â
The threaded model drops into the hole on your deck, you screw in to tighten it so it will not pull out. The top is where you put your pin seat on and it has a locking screw to tighten down the seat . The lever is to raise or lower your height, hydrolic gas pressure.A:Â
are you asking about your seat mounting to the pole or the pole mounting to the floor of your boat?the seats just have a pin that drops into all the poles.
