Purchased a Swarovski Optik Z3 3X-10X BRH last week to pair with my new Weatherby Vanguard S2 30.06 Back Country rifle. The Bass Pro Shops technician in Mesa, AZ installed the scope and bore sighted it. I took the rifle to the AZ high country last Saturday for the sole purpose of breaking it in per Weatherby instructions: Ten single rounds, cleaning the barrel and allowing for cooling between each shot then ten groups of three rounds, cleaning the barrel and allowing for cooling between each group. I set up some 9"x11" cardboard targets on a log with excellent backdrop behind for shooting. I hoped to just "get on paper" during this break-in phase. Was I amazed and happily surprised! I fired all 40 rounds from a kneeling position with no additional support. With zero adjustments to the crystal clear Z3 from the way the Bass Pro Shops tech set it up, all 40 rounds hit where I was aiming on the targets. All ten three-shot groups were well under 2 inches, six were sub-MOA, and the 9th group measured .45 inches. I expect very minimal scope adjustments and 100% sub-MOA groups when I take the rifle to the local range to sight it in from a bench rest using Barnes Vor-Tx 150-grain ammo. Kudos to the Mesa Bass Pro Shops tech for a great job. The scope is superb and the rifle rivals any custom hunting rifle I've ever fired. Couldn't be more pleased. BTW, these break-in results were accomplished at 107 yards with basic, 150 grain Remington Core Lokt and Hornady Whitetail ammunition.

by evanrogers Pricey but so is a great hunt
Purchased this scope in July to accomidate a new Sako Finnilight in 300 Win Mag for a long anticipated trip to S. Africa after plains animals. Light gathering was exceptional and ruggedness was up to the knocks and bumps found on trips of this nature. The majority of my scopes are either higher end Leopold or mid range Zeiss. This was my first Swarovaski and I was not disappointed in the quality. If I am fortunate enough to return to Africa I will take a Swarovaski on my main rifle.
