Plastic is too weak for the stress on the ladder legs need additional reinforcement maybe with metel

Converted a gunwale ladder with four plastic steps and plastic arms to a pontoon deck application. Bolted PVc end cap fitting to arms and braced with aluminum strap to keep from bending. Added screw to end cap to fit into brackets. All worked as planned, but the ladder still twists. I'm not sure I saved much, but the mounting brackets are good quality.
