Before assembly get a file and clean the burs off the inside of the tubes that the cable slides into. Otherwise everytime you slide in the cable it will cut the shrink tube on the cable. They get $24 for replacement shrink tube.
I have used the stand over a dozen times. I like the wrap around bar that you can sit on to climb. It nest together well for packing and the provided strap locks it together so it doesn't clank. I like to hang the top one first. The bungie and toe hooks work well.
The harness is good, but I don't like the belt supplied to attach it to the tree. It doesn't make me feel secure. I would rather have something that cinches down on the trunk. To allow range of motion the loop has to be as big as possible and on larger trees you cannot make it big enough. I bow hunt and need enough range to git-it-done.

Easy to put together, easy to set up in the woods, and rock solid in the tree. Also very comfortable for a long sit. You won't be disappointed.

This is a good quality climbing treestand. The only issue I've had is with the foot rest...it broke off after the first time I used the stand.

I had heard nothing but great things about the viper so I decided I should buy one this year, and it is the best decision I have made! I was truly impressed with how easy you can climb and how quiet it is. I have fairly wide shoulders and still have plenty of room to turn and look side to side. If you are afraid of going up without a harness don't let that concern you either as they do come with one. I would have to say this is one of the best climbers out there and fairly light compared to others its size. I would recommend this stand to all and every hunter out there!
