I got this line and put it o my Shakespeare Contender surf rod and reel combo . This line is horrible for casting. Surf rods are very long to allow you to cast extremely far. This line causes lots of friction so it limits your casting distance. Now I am just using it to make leaders.

it performed very well doesnt go as deep as the others but spools of the reel much better than the heavier lead core lines

This product is very easy to use! The 10 color sequence allows me to get my lures down to the correct depth. I would recommend this product to any fisherman!

I decided to go with this lead core for my striper trolling rod due to my extensive success with Suffix's other lines (braid and mono). Much to my surprise, the coloring on this line is very bright which makes it extremely easy to see how much of each color you are letting out. Unlike some other products out there that the colors just blend together and you don't realize you have another color out until it's half way in the water. I hightly recomend this product.

Does the amount to lead thickness (diameter) increase with higher lb. test rating lines, or does the lead thickness remain the same and only the polyester braid thickness increase?

do not use it on a reel it has friction which it horrible for casting.

No this lline does not come with a mono leader or backing. For backing I have good luck with Yo-Zuri hibrid or suffix performance braid. I am using this line for stripers up here in new england. LB test of your backing should depend on what you are fishing for.Details:Â
