I was looking for a more versatile, ie. stronger line that still casted well; comparible to trilene XL. After seeing a piece on the Sufix lines with Shaw Grigsby, I decided to give it a shot in 14 lb. on my baitcasters and eventually 4 lb. on my crappie and spinning trout rods. In both cases the line performed exceptionally. I have had great performance fishing crankbaits, spinnerbaits, and jigs in wood and grass for bass with pike mixed in. Memory was non-existent, knot strength was great, and the castability couldn't have been better, great distance without backlashes and handled fish well through coontails, hydrilla and around logs and stumps. It handled light spinnerbaits and crankbaits better than XL in my opinion. I even used it as my main line carolina rigging with a fluorocarbon leader and it had great sensitivity; I knew where and what my sinker/lizard was doing the whole time I had it in the water. The 4 lb. casts well and has held up to some good trout in heavy current and crappies in stumps, have yet to hook up to a larger fish with the 4 lb. test, but I assume it would handle anything you can play out in open water.

I started using Suffix this year. So far I'm very impressed with the durability, sensitivity, and knot strength. I'm using 14 lb. on my baitcasters. Plan on spooling up my spinning rigs with it as well.

the last piece in putting my crankbait outfit together was fishing line. after much research and learning so much about cranking for bass, i decided suffix would fit the bill for me. i spooled up some 8# test (lo-vis green) on my quantum q-vex 30 and paired it with a browning silaflex M action rod. what a combo! the line was everything it said it was, low memory, spools up nicely, and allows for long casts. i had no problems cutting through grass or with line twists. and with 8# test, i believe my lures were getting even deeper than advertised! the line is just perfect for crankbait fishing and using the lightest line you feel comfortable with will only improve the performance of your equipment. i've been using 8# test for years while bass fishing, with no regrets. and mono is the way to go when crankin for bass. it allows the bass to take the lure, not aware that he's been hooked! a little line stretch is a good thing when it comes to crankbait fishing. tight lines!

Worst line Ive ever used.Dont waste your money on this. I tought this might be ok after reading some the reviews on here man was I wrong. Buy Stren its so much better line than Suffix. I tried the Improved Clinch knot,Palomar knot, and Trilene knot and none of them would hold. Wish I could give it 0 stars but it wont let me...

no. i don't think glowing is a line characteristic i'd be looking for. i could be wrong. i like my line to blend in with the water i'm fishing. just adds another advantage in catching fish.

Has little or no stretch works great for top water or cranking. what I also like is you can get about 350 yds for about 9 bucks. I hate lines that cost 30.00 dollars for 150 yards . I like a good bargain.

i used this before and from rememberence seems to not be bestfor topwater or ctankin im prtty sure it sinks but i had 14 lbline on medium style reelstrech is minimal i think

Well it is nowhere near as tough as Flourocarbon, but the visibility is very low--one of the highlights of Flouro. It isn't gonna do you as good as Flouro in ripping through heavy cover, lb fo lb, and it will be thicker--or heavier in diameter--my experience is that it has a lot of memory for a mono, which is one of the knocks on flourocarbon (high memory) but this didn't have a lot less to me--try some P-line flouroclear for a good compromise.

Monofilament and Fluorocarbon excel at different tasks, so you're question is a little hard to answer.Sufix Elite Monofilament will stretch, which is great for topwater or suspending type baits. It is not as abrasion resistant as Fluorocarbon.
Sufix Fluorocarbon will not stretch like mono, and will help your baits sink. It's lack-of-visibility helps when you're dealing with spooky fish, but it's not recommended for topwater.
If you're fishing cover and structure, Fluoro will be more durable. Personally, I have used Sufix Mono in cover and have had great success because I prefer monofilament over any other type of line.

I've never found Sufix Fluorocarbon packaged as anything other than leader material. Their website claims they offer it in 200yd spools, but I have never found them.

Its alot better than berkley, Rapala makes sufix line. As for stren i think stren and sufix are the bestA:
Much more memory than Berkley lines, but tougher IME. Don't like Stren due to bad experiences some years back with high memory. This line also has too high of memory for me, but I have read where others did not have that experience--maybe the two 300 yard spools I got of 8lb were just bad, but it just lept off of the spool, and was horrible for wind knots--I have found P-line flouroclear to be a good compromise in limpness and toughness.A:
Sufix Elite Mono is all I use now. I used to be a Stren/Berkley user, but have really been impressed with Sufix Elite.The mono has very little memory, and has outperformed any other mono that I've ever used.
The pricing is great, has very low visibility, and is strong. I even use it when I'm cranking and fishing around cover. I haven't had to use fluorocarbon yet, and I thank Sufix for such a great line.

it doesn't compare at all it is by far the best line ive ever used by far most people say it breaks to easy but ive only broke my 3 times since i switched over to suffix 1 was on a very large red fish and almost spooled me i had to grab the spool and break it and 2 got in oysters and cut me off my girl friend just caught a 38" red on 10 pound suffix siege great lineImages for this Answer

My favorite line is Sufix, I've tried stren, berkley, and others. I think Sufix Elite is the best. Its smooth, castible, strong, and more. I hope this helps.1 of 1
