Rated 5 out of 5 by Love this rod I got this rod to use on party boats because I don't like their tackle that they provide most of the time. I've used it about 2-3 times and it's held up really nice. I filled it with 40lb mono line and I've caught Grunts, Snappers, Sea Bass and some others on this rod. The biggest fish I've caught on this rod is the Almaco Jack in the picture. They fight hard and the rod held up nice, and the drag is nice. I've read that someone caught a 100lb halibut on this rod also so its good for big fish but I wouldn't go for a marlin or goliath grouper on this rod. But in a nutshell, it will make a good trolling rod and works great for bottom fishing, highly recommend this rod if you want a nice rod for a low price. P.S- This rod is a little weaker than most party boat accommodations. It will last but it it will sometimes make fish feel bigger, which I kinda like, and you can feel more bites for more hook ups. I also like the ability it has to let you feel the fight, that's my favorite part. July 31, 2013
