StrikeMaster® Mora® Hand Ice Augers
Flat bladed augers are TERRIBLE
I borrowed the 8" version of this auger from someone for pike last weekend, and it took well over an hour just to cut 10 holes. It does not want to dig into the ice AT ALL(The auger had never been used, he bought it days before I used it too). The flat blades are useless, and the auger spins all over the place because the blades don't catch the ice even when pushing hard. My smaller auger cuts by itself because of its curved blades. People who give good reviews on this auger obviously have never used an auger that actually cuts ice!! Do yourself a favor and spend a little extra for CURVED BLADES!!! Your arms and shoulders will thank you.

Get what you paid for!
Purchased this auger as a back up to my power auger and it works well for that purpose. Since purchasing this I have purchased a different hand auger that is leaps and bounds above this one. If you are just looking to go out and drill 1 or 2 holes and that is it per trip then this is a great auger for you but if you are going to be drilling several holes I would suggest that you invest in a better unit.
