I have used this auger now for 3 years and every year I pour fresh gas in and it starts right up. It is very friendly on gas. This may sound crazy but since I bought this and put away the hand auger I have caught more fish. There is no magic in this auger but with the ability to pop holes with no effort I find myself willing to switch spots and venture out WAY more that with a hand auger. I average about 40 times per winter on the ice, and only once have I had a auger problem. Half of the issue was me and half the weather. After multiple hours of freezing rain, the throttle lever froze in place. After 2 minutes over a heater (Not reccomended), we were back to drilling more holes in the ice. Overall this is a great product, I love it, my buddies all now have it and was worth every penny. I have drilled through 30" of ice with this auger.
