StrikeMaster Lazer Hand Ice Augers
Great while it lasted
I have had this auger in the 7 inch size for two years now. I wasn't able to use it a whole lot last year but it has got some pretty heavy use this year. This is my only way of digging wholes and have been very impressed at the capability of this. Some of the ponds I have fished this year have had almost 3 feet of ice and I have been able to power through all of it until today. On the last whole I dug today the handle itself became a twisted pile of metal. I was using the last adjustment whole because the ice was so deep and where the other two holes are buckled and twisted. I am going to get the adapter to use my drill with this and make it an amazing power auger. Other than the handle I have been very happy with how this has worked.. and I might see what StrikeMaster has to say.

I normally use a 8" power auger, but I bought this 5" for early ice and was amazed! I might just buy an 8" and sell my power auger. Its that good.

Very nice as far as hand augers go. I like the adjustable handle and the fact that the blade guard came with the auger so I didn't have to purchase one. My last one was purchased 37 years ago. I would say that they are made to last as long as you take care of them. I went through 3 sets of blades and the bottom finally just got rusted away. I'm enjoying my new one.

I bought this a few weekends ago and it has worked great. It drills holes fast and easy. My dad could get one done in 15 seconds. I could drill them in about a minute because I was constantly getting tired. But I am only 13 years old. It is also great for plunging out holes and re-drilling old holes. The blades are razor sharp right out of the package and I haven't seen any signs of it being dull. It is easy to set up I actually set it up my self. Overall a great auger. What I say is if you are going to buy a hand auger it might as well by the best one on the market!
