As seen on the TV show, "One More Cast" featuring Shaw Grigsby. The Strike King® Rocket Shad™ is built for speed. You can cast it farther, retrieve it faster and cover more water than ever before. It is the perfect schooling fish lure and a great drop bait too. This lure runs perfectly in fast current conditions which makes it a terrific below-the-dam lure. Perfectly imitates the most common baitfish - the shad. Many different species of fish are attracted to it.

"Go To Bait" I always have one of these tied on to one of my rods. I have 1/4's , 3/8's, and 1/2 oz of these. I live in Massachusetts. I can catch largemouths, smallmouths, crappie, big pickerell, yellow perch, and huge bluegills on these baits. While I do agree, that the double hook does come off, I have found that a smartly bent piece of paperclip in place of the flimsy rubber O-ring works great. Still working on the problem of the skirt getting chewed & falling off, but thinking the same technique could be used. (tiny cable tie?). I recommend this bait, for those who don't mind using up one everytime they go out. At the price, against fish caught, I think it is a fair deal. This bait is very versatile. I have caught bass, burning it, slow rolling it, slow bounce & retrieve from the bottom, & even vertical jigging for small mouths. >>>>>>BC66 June 3, 2012
Catches Trout Too The Rocket Shad has produced very well for me for years, it has landed its fair share of largemouth, smallies, and panfish. I tried it out on my last trout trip and was surprised how well it produced trout out of the Colorado river. It will cast a mile and it runs excellent with no line twist. It can be fished on top or down deep for a variety of species. If your having a slow fishing day try one of these and your luck may change. May 12, 2008
crappie hater This lure is great for catching sunnys, bass, and crappies went to this spot and tryied lots of lures .But when I used this they hit this like it stole something from them they hit this so much they ripped all of the skirt off.and still kept on hittin it .I was really stunn when I got a 3 lbs bass with it and this is just for 2day spand now I use it as a let me see kind of lure I even gave one to this kid to try and he got 3 in a row he was happy as a shark in tub full of steaks July 13, 2010
Rocket Shad "ROCKS" I have had the best luck with this lure! I hail from CA where fishing is kind of versatile. I have landed many fish with it. Large and small mouth bass, Trout and crappie. The first time I used it was in a small lake in the middle if town and caught a 1 1/2 pound crappie. Great lure, I caught that trout on it! February 1, 2010

A:
I am partial to single bladed spinners, Strike King Rocket shad in shad color works best for me. I live in NewEngland, hard to get a bass to bite a larger double bladed spinner. I have very good luck though, with small mouths with 1/4oz RossterTails in white. I can beat up half a dozen baits in a day sometimes. Thomas' Double bladed inline spinner is awesome also, but also very easily used up, plan on using up a few each day they hitting it.

This lure works well for me for bass in late summer in PA. I use a white rocket shad. Works for both large mouth and small mouth.

Small smallmouth will almost always hit this thing. I did hook into a 4 pound rainbow with it, but thats the only large fish I have caught with it. The perch color seems to work the best with the orange belly

All bass in different locations react differently. I have used this lure in some places with not so much as a hit, but they went nuts for the YUM dingers. The other day I caught 5 bass in 30 minutes on the black one. I will be getting more of these. Good luck.
