Strike King® Rage Tail™ Space Monkey Softbaits
Unbelievable detailing makes this the life of your next Texas-rigging party. The scalloped Rage Tail design, elongated legs, and extra ''bumps'' send a radically different signal through the water column, bringing bass in to investigate. Handy back slit for better hooksets.

Rated 4 out of 5 by rickrhein Really great but This lure is one of the best on the market, very versatile in so many different applications but the side appendages are too easy for panfish to remove. Once they are gone the applications diminish considerably. July 20, 2012

A:The craw works better for me ,but have caught a couple on space monkey
Details:Big tex or black/blue flack? I can't decide, also what color do you recommend? Thank you very much!
A:you must match it to your surroundings. good neutral color is green pumpkin which sells out the fastest. do yourself a favor get some and get ready to boat some bass! my kids love the monkey because it catches fish period!!
hope this helps:-- )
A:Black/blue has been money for me all year long in the waters I fish. Get a second pack up front, fish tend to chase this thing and bite legs off if your retrieve is too fast.
A:Sorry to say get both why not . the thing is i never can tell some one what color to get its up to the fish. its up to you to try the two colors you will think would work. person..i would go blk n blue. but try them out.
Details:What is the total length counting the legs? and does it come in more than one size? thank-you very much
A:I don't know the length but I rig it on a 4/0 tokar hook and it works great! good luck 2 you!
A:Don't know length but it does come in smaller size. I have the smaller size but haven't used smaller size yet because the fish keep hitting the larger size. May have to wait until fall or next spring to test small one if larger size keeps working like it has.
Details:I like the looks and the reviews seem good, but will it catch fish? I'm not interested in a bait that only catches my eye...
A:see my review tikfishin!
it works period! texas rig with bullett wt!
A:find out when craw are jumping them hit them with this the'll love it . and bait aint all ways bait its a great clue of where there at.
A:I use Green Pumkin and Green pumpkin with red flake at nite along rocky banks and along walls with lights and catch alot of fish with this lure
A:I use this bait weightless/weedless over grass and moss just like you would a frog. Huge explosions! It's pretty durable too compared to some other "frog"-type soft plastics I've used.

A:I love this bait for pitching, flipping *when you want a larger bait*, and dragging on a Tx rig. Yes it catches fish, not just fisherman. Rig it the way the package tells you to, and when you finally fish out the front section, pinch that off and use it as a jig trailer. This works very well.
A:This catches lots of fish and big ones I like watermelon and watermelon red flake for any lake that has largemouth bass.
Details:can u rig it weightless and what size of hook and what weight for texas
and how u fish it do u fish like a fluke or what?
A:Use a 1/16 oz bullet weight, size 1 or 1/0 work hook, texas rig, and fish it like a worm or lizard on the bottom.. You are imitating a crawdad
A:I fish it texas with a 3/8 to1/2 ounce weight ang flip it in brush or just hop and crawl it on the bottom.
A:I fish it weightless on 8 lb test, Texas rigged with a 4/0 hook.
A:YES YOU CAN RIG IT WEIGHTLESS AND I USE A 5/0 EXTRA WIDE GAP HOOK,IT VERY INPORTANT THAT YOU FISH THIS LURE IN HEAVY COVER,LIKE LILLY PADS,GRASS,STUMPS,BOAT DOCKS.RIPRAFES,AND TRY TO GET STARTED REALLY EARLY IN THE MORNINGS MAKE SURE YOU HAVE EXTRA LURES HANDY.
A:It has enough to weight to easily fish
weightless and I used a TRU TURN 3/0 hook.
A:The bait is designed for a weighted rig. When there is weight in front of the bait it brings it more rapidly down towards the bottom and causes the claws and arms to flap wildly, which is why this bait works so well. When you fish it weedless, you dont get the speed necessary to create that action. My recommendation is keep it weighted. Here's how to rig it:
1/4 to 1/2 oz bullet weight
XPS 4/0 Extra Wide Gap hook
How to fish the Space Monkey:
1. Cast your bait out and let it fall completely to the bottom
2. Once you reach bottom, lift your rod causing the bait to rise 3-5 feet up
3. Allow it to fall back to the bottom.
4. Repeat, or reel in and allow the initial fall to cause a strike.
The action of the Space Monkey is in the claws. This bait works well for me and I use it often. Rig and use it this way and you are sure to have success!
A:I rig it texas, weightless with a 5/0 worm hook and vary my retrieve. I reel it in steady so it works like a buzzbait or twitch it back like a fluke.
A:You probably could fish it weightless, but I have caught more fish texas rig with a 4/0 hook, you want some weight so when fall it get those legs moving and the attention of the fish, once it hit the bottom jig two or three times then pause, repeat the process until the two thumps or one hard thump come then set the hook because it fish on!!!!!!!!!!
A:Never have tried it weightless. I use a 4/0 hook. the weight i use depends on the wind. usuall no less than a 3/8 ounce
A:The Best thing about this lure is that it can be fished many diffrent ways. I have caught fish with a jighead, and on a texas rig. It works best on a texas rig, as it is then turned weed-less. Try the watermelon color!
