Strike King Rage Tail Craw Softbait Lures 4.8 5 96 96
Probably the best softbait lure!!! This softbait Rage Craw with coffee sent is working better than i could imagine. Bama Craw is the colour i've found to work the best so far with 1/8 ounce wait also to get down to the buttom, must of the time its getting hit on the way down but when it doesn't the fish have gone crazy for it and hit it like no tomorrow. From largies, smallies, to pike. August 9, 2010
nice as a trailer I used the Coffee flavored California Craw as a trailer on a 1/2oz casting jig. The craw has good action with a nice very tight wiggle. It slowed the decent drasticly and allowed me to fish the 45* water nice and slow. Towards the end of the day when the fish were becoming a little more active I opted to cut a section off of the body to shorten it up. Worked great all day see attached pics. My brother threw the blueflake (which has no blue in it by the way, looked just like the califormia craw but with more green in the plastic w/red flakes) He TX rigged the craw and was having trouble getting good hook sets. Even though there is a cut out section for the hook to easily penatrate, neither Mustad ultra-lock 3/0 nor Gamakatsu EWG worm 4/0s where getting through to the fish (maybe it was just him). The only problem I found was that they don't last very long. Expect to catch 1-3 bass before loosing a claw or having the bait ripped up beyond restoration. April 5, 2010
1 of the best softbaits i love these ragetail craws!! watermelon/red is a phenomenal bait.. the craw in this color is my go to bait when nothing else works.. THIS WILL i PROMISE! wish they lasted a little longer but hey they work cant ask for much more February 21, 2011
Lots of action I'm really glad that I bought this product. The claws on this bait give of a lot of action and vibration. It is great when paired with the Strike King KVD Heavy Cover Swim jig. July 3, 2010

A:
let it sink to the bottom of the small pond then just jerk the rod in a pattern like:
-every 3 seconds then
-every 5 seconds it really does not matter how fast or slow or when to jerk it really

Found here: http://www.ragetail.com/news/rigging-info/...

Rage Craw

1) Is the most action packed Craw design on the market. With the slightest movement of the rod tip, the claws start flapping back and forth and create terrific action and vibration in the water. This versatile design lends itself to a variety of popular rigging techniques that have proven effective at the highest level on the Pro Fishing Tour.

2) The Rage Craw can be rigged with a variety of hook sizes and styles depending on the type of presentation you are looking for. The most popular is Texas rigged using a bullet weight from 1/8 oz to 1 oz depending on the amount of wind and water depth when fishing. ¼ oz is standard. For casting with a drag and stop, or lift and fall retrieve, an un-pegged weight is very popular. For flipping or pitching in brush or trees, a pegged weight is advised to keep the bait and weight together which helps you to better navigate the structure as well as provide a more vertical presentation.

3) Using the Rage Craw and Jig Trailer is very popular when a slightly larger or longer profile is desired over the standard chunk size trailer. This can be used on the standard skirted football, flipping or casting jigs, or on a stand up jig head as well.

4) Carolina rigged is also very effective using as light of a weight as necessary for the wind and depth conditions. This technique allows the bait to free swim at any and all depths which is very attractive to the fish.

5) Another up and coming rig is the Rage Rig using a keel weighted hook like the 1/4oz weighted Stroker swimbait hook from Moaner Hooks in 3/0, 4/0 or 5/0. This allows the bait to fall with a different profile and action and is extremely effective for finicky fish in shallow water and over grass or moss beds. Light or low wind conditions are best for this style of presentation.

6) Completely weightless using an EWG hook in the sizes mentioned below, gives an excellent finesse top water presentation that allows a gentle fluttering, flapping top action and lets the bait slowly fall in the grass pockets when needed.

7) Any of the popular hook designs are effective with the Craw which includes Standard offset worm hook and EWG hook. Preferred sizes are 3/0 to 4/0 in each.

You can but I think it works best as a trailer on a jig or by itself on a shakey head. The price?... Come on, kvd has already redone his kitchen.

This bait is design to be used as a trailer on a jig or to be Texas rigged weighted or weightless. This not to say you can not try but it was not designed that way

Hey Bassman94, i also live in PA and love to bass fish. I have tried both craw imitations and prefer the Rage Tail hands down. They work so well i have even caught big bass in ponds where there are no actual crawfish. I use them with a 1/16oz weighted Gamatzu (i don't think thats how you spell it so bear with me) 3/0 hook. It keeps it from nose diving into the mud. Hope this helps.

I'd say you can't go wrong with either but I prefer the rage craw. The claws give off more vibration which I believe entices more strikes. The chigger craw is a little more subtle.
