i have used this bait on a number of diffrent lakes and have caught a lot of fish on them. Its nice that someone decided to make a lure a little smaller for more timid fish.

This is a great spinnerbait that I used to catch a nice largemouth bass out at Lake Piru in California. I cast it out on the first attempt near some weeds and a fish took it almost immediately! Chartreuse works great.

This caught me a nice 3 pounder yesterday at Sooner Lake in Oklahoma. I put a chartreuse BPS double tail grub on the hook and cast it into a big grass patch and thought I got it snagged on a rock. I I was jerking my rod back and it turned out to be a bass. It fought so hard I thought it was a lot bigger than 3 pounds. This spinner can catch just about anything that swims! I have the black and blue color and it works good around grass stumps and even open water!

Its hard to fish it wrong, you can just real it in and catch fish. I like to find what depth the fish are at and when i real it in i real about five feet and let it die. then give it 2 sharp jerks and continue doing the same thing all the way back to the boat or bankTop 1000 Contributor

TRY THEM, EASY AS 1 TWO 3..JUST HIT THE WATER, THEY DO MOST OF OF THE WORK...Try white and blue /black you'll be just fine.Top 500 Contributor

If there is some clarity to the water start off with 1/4 ounce double willow leaf or Strike King mini series (single blade). These are the most basic and productive spinnerbaits around to start with.Remember spinnerbaits are the most versatile bait in the tackle box so vary your retrive and tinker with color and blade options. Be patient and keep casting quite often bass will not hit it until the thrid of fourth cast.
For starters do not invest in the expensive spinnerbaits. Start off with the 2 or 3 dollar varitey they are basic and can be just as effective.

Depending on the water clarity and the aggressiveness of the fish will determind how fast or slow to fish. Under overcast days in pretty clear water i fish it at the surface and fast so they cant get a good look at it. Slow down in merkier water. You can fish it anywhere, but around sunken wood is good and down a weedline is the best, just hold on to that rod when they hit because they crush it.A:Â
There are many different style retrieves for a spinnerbait. You can "burn" a spinnerbait across open water to try and induce reraction strikes, slow roll the bait (slowly retreive just off bottom) to mimic a bottom feeding or struggling bait fish, or even jig.For more information and some great tips on Spinnerbait tactics, visit our Outdoor Site Library and search keyword "spinnerbait".

Slow and low baby, just let those blades work, and dont forget to always use your spinners like a jigTop 500 Contributor

Throw it around any type of structure or in and around grass. Reel it in just fast enough to keep it off the bottom bumping and twitching it over logs and sticks.Top 500 Contributor

just reel normal speed and pop the tip of your rod every once in a while.Details:Â

Depending on whats in the pond should tell you what to use. Bluegill patterns always seem to do well but in my mind you can never go wrong with white, and maybe a white with chartruse.A:Â
When fishing any body of water the main key is to match your bait to the forage of the species that you are targeting (often called "matching-the-hatch"). For bass and other predatory species in farm ponds this is usally some sort of bluegill or small panfish. Match the color of the spinnerbait that you are throwing as closely as possible to the prey (in the instance of the bluegill, try chartruse or fire tiger to mimic the color).A:Â
Clear pond, chaurtreuse anything and whites, yellow, junebug works greatA:Â
We used the color white (72) back in mid April 2009 and caught plenty of bass out of a pond that was stocked with a large variety of fish.1 of 1
