Strike King KVD Sexy Dawg Topwater Hardbaits
I don't do a lot of topwater hard lures like spooks, jitterbugs or hulapoppers; mostly buzzbaits and the classic shallow diver Rapala style. Decided to try out the SK Sexy Dawg. Fishing a little pond where the LMB were hitting EVERYTHING up top so I got one of these out to try it. Caught a jr. sized LMB in a few minutes and had a bunch of hits. Never had any issues with any SK lures of any types, they are durable and catch fish. I have 3 in various colors, that's enough for me. Some people really love or hate SK. I don't favor any one company over another, if their products work and are quality made, I'm in no matter who the company is.

Took a licking
I took this lure to El Salto, Mexico, almost as an afterthought. The guide tied it on, said "throw it long, senor," I did, and the rest is history. I boated at least 15 bass over five pounds, three of them seven pounds, one eight. Between bites I dragged the poor thing through thorn bushes, water hyacinths, and a few other hangups. I was impressed with how well it held up, seeings how the treatment I was giving it bordered on outright abuse.

Bad Hooks on 3/4 oz model
The three 3/4 once models that I bought had very low quality short shank hooks. All hooks on the 3 baits had one if not two dull points on each treble. I discovered this by trying the the thumb nail test of the hooks. I had to buy quality hooks and replace every hook in an attempt to salvage a poor purchase before I even used them. I would have never expected this. Buy one and check it out for yourself. Strike King made money on this deal. The fair rating is because the hard bait just looks good and I expect it to catch fish because I have put on the replacement trebles.

GOOD, BUT NEEDS SOME CHANGE
EXCELLENT WORK, BUT THE TREBLE HOOKS ARE WEAK, MUST BE CHANGED FOR BRAZILIAN PEACOCK BASS. I CHANGED FOR VMC 4X AND AFTER THIS, BECOMES A KILLER BAIT.
