Other than the big, meaty body, we don't know how these unique Softbaits got their names. After all, the Rodent and Baby Rodent's waving legs and dual tail flaps suggest a different kind of critter altogether. But there's no doubting that the Rodents will do a number on big bass. Strike King's level of detail is unmatched, and the profile and action will attract plenty of attention even in heavy cover. Jig it or rig it, and hold on tight! Strike King's Rodents are enhanced with real coffee bean granules and coffee bean oil to give the tubes an earthy tinge and a naturally strong scent/taste big bass are eager to slurp up. Not only does the coffee scent/flavor entice and encourage fish to hold the bite longer, it also works to mask human scents. They are salt-impregnated too!

I bought a couple of packs of these, one was a black and blue flake, and I had some pretty good results. Yanked a couple of nice bass out of some reeds Texas riggin' these things. Definitely a good buy.

Beaver style baits attract Bass because of their craw-like look and action, and the Rodent does its job quite well.
I got the 4" size in black-blue and green pumpkin. The coffee scent calls them in and keeps them interested long enough to get a good hook set. I use this lure when craws are the choice over shad and as a "go-to", but not as my fish-all-day choice. It just is too soft and not durable enough. After just one fish, your bait may return without legs or be ripped at the nose.
If you like fishing beaver baits, Bass Pro has a much more durable "Beaver Bug" with a tube-like tail that helps keep it running level and comes in many colors, and is better priced.
Use the Rodent if you're not on a budget, or in the clutch, but keep your wallet handy.

Went to kentucky lake with this bait and wore them out. It worked like a charm on large mouth and they killed it both as jig trailer and jig head texas rigged. The only bad thing is they don't last. Strike king got it right when they named them perfect plastics. There perfect for strike king to make money with. But bass love them!!

Durability is horrible. I use this bait to pitch into heavy weed cover, you get it stuck on a lily and you're done! Hook on a new one. Catch a fish, hook on a new one. The only thing I can say is that they smell like black liquorish and I love that stuff. I really hope they re do something about it's plastic, because it could be a good bait.
