To keep this short and to the point, if I could only take one lure out for the day...it would be this one in KVD magic. Rig it weightless on a 4/0 EWG and enjoy the show!!

I used this product for the first time this month and caught quality largemouth one after another! I fished it weightless and just twitched in shallow water for prespawn fish. they attacked it like a freight train! Highly recomend you try it fished weightless with a 4/0 ewg hook.

These are great soft baits... They will catch plenty of fish !!! I fish them weightless.. The fish can't stand it when it sinks slowly !!! Bait is very durable too. Scent is awsome. Can catch at least 7 to 8 bass per shad, maybe more.... And plenty come in pack... Thanks KVD...

THIS JERKBAIT RULES! Honestly the second time I ever casted one of these in baby bass BAAM! Hooked up with a nice Five pounder. During the summer last year the Bass tore these things up(Literally).

What type and size hooks do you rig these with?Answers
A:Â
4/0 or 5/0 CPS Owner hook. The smaller spring lock helps preserve the head and will make the lure last approximately 4-5 fish before having to replace it.A:Â
I use a 4/0 gamakatsu skip gap hook for the 5" shad.A:Â
a 3/0 worm hook for the5 inch seems to help keep the bait fishable for a bit longer. they really are susceptable to tearing easily.A:Â
3/0 or 4/0 BassPro Shops widegap hooks in redA:Â
4/0 ewg gamakatsu worked best for meDetails:Â
I have bought several packs of Caffeine Shad and about half of them come with a plastic liner inside holding the jerkbait closer while the other half do not come with that plastic liner? The ones that do not have a plastic liner, are more greasier and I have noticed that they catch more fish than the pack that contains the plastic liner which are not as greasy and are lighter in color. What is that plastic liner for and why do some come with it while others do not?Answers

There is no reason other than to keep the baits separated from each other and formed the way they should be.A:Â
idk why..i think the newer models come with that so the tail dosent get all mangled...its fine it most likely wont affect ur fishing...it happens to me tooDetails:Â
I'm fishing in muddy water with a foot of visibility, so what color should I use?Answers
A:Â
In Colorado, I had very similar conditions to what you described - muddy water with about a foot of visibility. We were backlit with bright sunlight one day and cloudy skies the next. In both sunlight conditions, the Baby Bass color worked extremely well.A:Â
My pond is basically the same. Its very muddy and weedy, i got the cafiene shad in kvd magic color and found that it is a great bait for dirty water. I have caught many 5lb bass w/ this baitA:Â
Smokin Shad works great they look like a real shadA:Â

In dark water you want to use dark colors like blacks, blues and purples. Chartruese, white and other bright colors work well too. stay away from the natural colors in muddy water.A:Â
baby bass or white....anything with some flakes in it should do the trickTop 25 Contributor

Anything darker will be best in the stained water. It is opposite of what you would think.Top 250 Contributor
A:Â
I would say the lighter the color the better. in darker water you need a bait that has a good visual presentation as well as Audio presentation. The bass will more likely go for a white or pearl color rather than a dark color in murky/ darker water.1 of 1
