  • Smooth beveled sides reflect light
  • Precision molded of supersoft plastic
  • Slow sink rate
  • Ideal for jerkbaiting and wacky rigging
  • Soft salt impregnated plastic and exclusive coffee scent
This 8-sided beast takes the concept of the soft jerkbait to another level. Like a faceted bead vs. a round bead, the Ocho's smooth beveled sides reflect light in different directions, creating a flash effect unlike that of any other softbait. Bass respond readily! Precision molded of supersoft plastic, with a slow sink rate, the versatile Ocho is ideal for jerkbaiting and wacky rigging. All KVD Perfect Plastics lures feature soft, salt impregnated plastic and an exclusive coffee scent that masks human scents and oils to produce more and longer bites.
Rated 4.8 out of 5 by 58 reviewers.
Rated 5 out of 5 by Good bait I used the 5 and 7 inch Ochos for the first time a couple days ago. I am pleased will the overall quality of this bait.Got several bites on each one. Plan on buying more in the future. April 27, 2009
Rated 5 out of 5 by THE OCHO Strike King has come up with another of their unique and great baits. I really don't know how they do it, but they have all of the baits any fisherman could ever need, and then some. In addition to all the desired qualities of a soft bait, The Ocho is a bait that reflects light off each of its eight sides, which is just another quality that attracts the fish. This bait is another ideal soft bait by Strike King. It is very floppy and wiggly, which makes it great for wacky worming, but it is also great for any other style of rigging. February 17, 2009
Rated 5 out of 5 by great soft bait This is my new favorite worm to fish wackly style. Try the baby bass in clear water. January 16, 2009
Rated 5 out of 5 by If you throw it, they will bite! MOVE OVER 'SENKO'! This 'Ocho' worm falls slower and more seductively than anything I (or the Bass) have ever seen! It's unbelievable...the fish can't leave it alone! I have been throwing it weightless, or 'Carolina' and have gotten bit, and hooked up about 3 out of 5 times. Weightless, it falls only about 1 inch every 3 seconds, and rocks back & forth, and and twists side to side. Many times, it doesn't even get near the bottom before getting whacked! And a Carolina rig just drives em' nuts! If you like wormin' you just HAVE TO try these. I bet it becomes your new #1 worm! It has for me. In South Florida, the water always stays above 72-75 degrees, and with temps like this, and pretty clear water, 'Watermelon-Red', I find, is the most productive color. Try some....you'll be hooked! Rig it on a 5/0 NON OFFSET hook. i say non offset in capitals because it will twist yoru line into rope if u use an offset hook. just dont do it. and, btw, dont even buy this lure. it has bad plastic and terrible action on the fall. gary yamamoto senkos are the only bait with the right plastic and fall for soft stickbaits.

A 5/0 hook would be good for a 10 inch worm, so I'd do with something smaller, like a 3/0 or 4/0.

For dead sticking I would use a Gamakatsu 3/0 EWG worm hook in red. For wacky rigging use Gamakatsu weedless finesse wide gap and a wacky tool with the o-rings to prolong the life of the bait.

If your looking for a Jig head hook I would go with Tru Tungsten's Flea Flicker jig head. Weightless is good but you will get a lot more action using this jig head. The Flea Flicker shakes as it falls and the bait wobbles more as it shakes. It will not fall that fast when you use an 3/32 oz Flea Flicker. I don't fish them weightless that much any more because I get a lot more fish this way. (even in shallow water) Hope this has help you

Depends on what you want to do. Wacky you want about a 1/0 wacky or walleye hook. for texas/weightless you will probably want a 2/0 gamakatsu wide gap worm hook.

the best way to fish

Details:
I live on the Tennessee river. The water is by far merky most of the time. Do you think a man could catch fish in murky water on the Ocho and which way is the best way to rig them.

I too fish the Tennessee River, Lake Guntersville area. I mainly fish them weightless over and through the grass beds.

A:
These work best in mildly stained to clear water. If I was to fish them in murky water, I'd use green/pumpkin and dye the tail with chartreuse. I'd also throw a larger size, like a 6".

I catch them all the time on Chickamauga Lake on the Tn River. I use the Tru Tungsten Flea Flicker in 3/32 oz and wacky rig it. As the rig falls the jig head wobbles back and forth which makes the bait wobble even more and since it is weighted it will wobble more and you can fish it deeper. I fish it shallow also because it does not speed up the fall that much. It still falls at a low speed. My point is that by using the flea flicker or a lightly weight hook or jighead you can increase the action and vibration of the bait which makes it alot easier for the fish to locate in murky water. and believe me I know what you mean when you say murky water. more like watered down mud sometimes. I hope this will help you catch some fish and good luck

I primarily fish this in murky water myself and yes it works. The green colors seem to work best for me. what i usually do is cast them let them sit on the bottom for a minute pull them up and usually a bass hits it on the way up

Yes, the Strike King Ocho will catch fish in merky water. Darker colors like June Bug seem to catch fish in dirty water. I found the best way to rig this worm is Whacky style. It will also, work on a Texas rig.

I've used this worm almost every time I have fished this year. The pond I fish is pretty murky with a lot of moss. The only color I use out there is watermelon red flake rigged really simple. Just run the hook through about an inch of the worm, pop the hook out and you're ready to go. I fish these weightless because almost every fish I've caught out there has been while it's still dropping. I tend to catch 2 or 3 two pounders every time I'm out, but just last week with this worm I caught 9 bass, one of which weighing in at 5 pounds!
