  • Fish-catching features of the original swim jig
  • Added resilency of a heavy wire hook
  • Swim this one where the big ones live
Strike King® KVD Heavy Cover Swim Jigs offer all the fish-catching features of Kevin's original swim jig plus the added resiliency of a heavy wire hook. You can swim this one where the big ones live and have confidence the heavy wire hook will help you get them out of heavy cover and into the boat.

NOTE: Hooks could be either red or black due to mixed stock.  No color choice is available.

Rated 5 out of 5 by Best swim jig on the market I've found that other brands have swim jigs that are cheaper in price, but like anything, you get what you pay for. Booyah's won't stay upright if you put a grub or a craw on them. That's where these work great. Put your favorite trailer on them and start catching some fish! September 29, 2011
Rated 5 out of 5 by Excellent jigs I love the color choices and the durabilty! These jigs are everything they say they are have caught 20+ bass this year on these and a few Pike. Go thru weeds well in the lighter models and super hookset. June 13, 2011
Rated 4 out of 5 by great jig the head isnt as great as a design as some booyah jigs this jig plain out catches fish consistantly February 13, 2011
Rated 5 out of 5 by Great Swim Jig This is an amazing swim jig. I first started to use this lure in canada where I accidentally caught a nice sized northern pike when I was going for bass. I caught other really nice fish in canada, so when I came back home i wanted to try it for largemouth bass. To my surprise, this was a excellent swim jig in bluegill color with a strike king baby rage craw in summer craw. The first cast with this lure in illinois, I caught a 4 pound largemouth bass. I got a total of around 5 bass that day all above 2.5 pounds. This is definitely one of my go to lures now. January 18, 2011

Paca chunk has several colors that work really well with bluegill. I like green pumpkin candy and okeechobee craw. Rage tail craws are a little bigger and work well also. Single tail grubs and baby fluke will work too.

Strike King baby Craw is what I use for a trailer and use Green Pumpkin but there is the Okeechobee Craw color that can also work. In all, I've found the Strike King craw colors are the best for this jig.

I feel chigger craws make the best trailer for swimming or pitching. The oscillating legs are fantastic. I also use the Kalin 5inch grub for its large tail.

technique

Details:
I have tried swimming this bait, jigging it, and everything else I can think of, but I can't seem to get any bites. I got the bluegill color in the 3/8 oz. I have no idea why this isn't working for me. KVD lures have always produced for me, especially the spinnerbait, in the firetiger.

The easy way is to fish with someone who knows how to use jigs. They can be fished a lot of different ways and different trailers, small vs large or curly vs craws, change everything. Slight twitching causes the skirt to flare on slow retrieves. Short hope on the bottom also works.

I use the same color here in WI in ultra clear water and add yamamoto hula grubs in smoke and red and watermelon and constantly throw in weed beds and slow roll them back or cast and fast swim back on surface. Have caught bass and pike this way.

Add a trailer, throw when water is too clear for a spinnerbait. Otherwise keep using your spinnerbaits.

Make sure you use a color that matches the bait fish in the lake or pond. I fish a private lake and they eat the blue gills so I put a tariler on as well to the color of the bluegills best time to use them is overcast and windy days. They are also great night fishing lures

Well it depends on the angle that your fishing, as well as how swift the water is. I have used this bait in pretty swift rivers for smallmouth and have had excellent sucess with it.

That would be an great color, although i have not been able to find one in this exact model. Possibly speak to strike king directly, they should know how to get one if you can.
