Rage on the surface
I through one of these on and dragged it over some really thick pads. great option for weedless topwater. Arms splash around and trigger some great strikes. Tough for a plastic but you will lose an arm now and again

Best craw type plastic
I think these craws have the best action of any on the market. Texas rig, shaky head, or trailer on a jig are all good options. I plan on trying the full size rage craw. A little expensive but pretty durable.

6 months ago, you probably know what color to use by now, in my experience sometimes a contrasting color works better than a natural one, I was amazed when orange 5" garlic scented worms caught everything here in s.e.pa last season, this year the fish didnt want the same color,,, you might try turning over some rocks to see what color the natural bait is, try buying a color to match that, and one to show the fish something they havent seen, start with green pumpkin, on a brown/orange skirted jig, weight depends on if current is a factor, i have used them carolina rigged on a 2/0 worm hook, good luck
