Stren Original Monofilament Fishing Line
strength and castability
I have been using Stren monofilament for 30 plus years. I've tried other brands, but always go back to stren. I cannot remember EVER losing a fish from line breakage and its castability is unsurpassed. As far as mono goes, I find it to be the best out there.

It's Stren! No need to say more!
Yeah, read the title, read the other reviews. I've used Stren longer than I can remember (40 years plus) and used the Original Mono since the early 80's (as a guess, I was a kid, you can't remember everything). NEVER NEVER NEVER had ANY ISSUES with Stren on multiple setups fishing for multiple fish species. From old garbage Zebco bluegill rigs, to $500 Shimano baitcasting and open faced spinning combos this line has never failed me. I use 6 and 8 lb test for most Bass, Panfish, Trout and other "game" type fish. I use heavier test weights when I decide to go "carping" or "catfishing" and have the rigs to do so. Never lost a fish due to a knot coming loose, line breaking, or anything line related. Using 8 lb test and a mid diving rattleshad crankbait, caught an angry 35 lb Channel Cat when I was trying to catch Hybrid Bass. The line held as I played with the drag and brought him in. I've used other brands but they all have given me issues one way or another. I change line colors depending on the water conditions and time of year so they all work well. When you find it on sale, STOCK UP! Happy Fishing and Be Well!

I have been fishing Stren line for over 30 years and it has never let me down. 12 lb line is ideal for crank baits, all depth. 17 lb for spinner baits, buzz baits and 20+ pound for pitching wood, boat docks and weeds. I don't break off, ever.
