Stren Original Monofilament Fishing Line
Not a bad line!
I like the high vis gold line for fishing early morning or late evening, when the visibility is low! It give me at least an extra hour of fishing over my regular clear line! It works well a bit of a memory, but not bad! Cast well, durable! Only bad thing is stren is phasing out the high vis gold color! So I'm gonna stock up!

I used Stren forever, until i switched to spiderwire it is still good line and will not disappoint. Its tough and strong. I find it holds more memory than other monos and it is not as smooth casting. It is not a bad option especially because the price is lower than other monos

It's Stren! No need to say more!
Yeah, read the title, read the other reviews. I've used Stren longer than I can remember (40 years plus) and used the Original Mono since the early 80's (as a guess, I was a kid, you can't remember everything). NEVER NEVER NEVER had ANY ISSUES with Stren on multiple setups fishing for multiple fish species. From old garbage Zebco bluegill rigs, to $500 Shimano baitcasting and open faced spinning combos this line has never failed me. I use 6 and 8 lb test for most Bass, Panfish, Trout and other "game" type fish. I use heavier test weights when I decide to go "carping" or "catfishing" and have the rigs to do so. Never lost a fish due to a knot coming loose, line breaking, or anything line related. Using 8 lb test and a mid diving rattleshad crankbait, caught an angry 35 lb Channel Cat when I was trying to catch Hybrid Bass. The line held as I played with the drag and brought him in. I've used other brands but they all have given me issues one way or another. I change line colors depending on the water conditions and time of year so they all work well. When you find it on sale, STOCK UP! Happy Fishing and Be Well!

Do not recommend 1000 yd spool
I have used Stren 6# test for decades for smallmouth and have landed 2 citiation muskies on it so I like the stuff. The 1000 yard spool I got must have been from old stock as it had very bad coil memory not typical with new line. Stay with the smaller spools.
