I recently purchased the StingRay XprIII hydrofoil for my Triton bass boat. I have to admit I was pretty disappointed. The logic is smart ,but the mounting design is flawed. After mounting to my motor there was a lot of play and several spaces at mounting positions. I never tried it on the water because of the questionable mounting flaws. Instead of losing $150 I'm just going to ship it back.

Hello, I have recently purchased XR III and installed it on my Rinker's Bravo three drive (inboard). After few days of testing, it looks OK and do the right thing, as explained in the brochure. The only thing is that it is not fit on my drive as explained on the papers, my Zn-protector is mounted more inboard and cannot be seated on the place designed by Sting Ray. However, I have fix it on my drive using 2 suplied bolts and it looks OK now.

The performance was great, when I could keep it on. The first one I put on per intructions blew off first trip. The second one I put on I added marine polyurethane on every area that would help hold it on. Eventually not even that could save it, blew the second one off. I have a 115 4 stroke on a 19' 9" Cobia bay boat. Maybe it will stay on a lower horsepower I don' t know. One things for sure it will not stay on what I have. I need a hyrofoil, so now I will go with a drill and bolt style from a different manufacturer.

Most likely not, Pretty sure not. It would not fit my 40 hp. And I looked on Cabala's reviews the other day , before I got this one and not too many were happy with this product and all of them with any type of mercury motor stated that it would not fit.Kit
