I bought this for my 150EFI Mercury on a nitro189 sport. Installation was a snap, though I was concerned due to the (-) reviews. I tightened the torque tab down pretty good and it started to warp the underside (evident by arrow in picture) so i stopped. Took it easy on the test drive and after a little bit, noticed it had worked back a little. So I repositioned it, tightened a little more and it was good for a few outings. Kept my eye on it and noticed it working back off again so I TORQUED it to where I thought the underside would crack but it didn't! Used it for two seasons. Boat would jump out of the water, plane at much slower speeds which was perfect for pulling tubes with children or newbies but I didn't see top end speed gain...if anything 2mph less. No big deal imo. Not sure if it was due to wear or someone stepped on it but the underside where the tab clamps on it did crack and broke a piece off...noticed it this fall as I was putting the boat up for winter. Only a 1yr warranty so I'm outta luck. It is big, sticks out a bit in the back and at first I thought it obnoxioiusly so but it worked well enough I got over it. Gonna try the stealth next spring hoping it will work as well or nearly so and wont be as obvious a platform for someone to step on. I see that has some bad reviews too! Seems they could include some filler material (ie rubber hose/matt) to help hold and prevent flexing while clamping it on.

Rated 3 out of 5Â by Buffaloman did not need product
I have the Sting Ray XR3, it did install like the directions stated, OK. On my Triton TR 19 OptiMax 150HP, hole shot in 12 seconds. With the StringRayXR3 I can punch out at 5 seconds. Is it worth $250 dollars for 6 to 8 seconds, I dont thiks so. If the fish I am after leave town in the 8 second delay so be it. If your boat does labor on a hole shot I mean more then15 to 25 seconds then it might be worth it. That is my 2 cents worth I hope this helps. Anyone need a StringRay ZR3 half price, Buffaloman

This is the second stabilizer I have purchased for my boat. It is a 150 HP Champion and has always been a bit diffulcult to get on plane. The stabilizer more than compensates for this and makes fishing, and watersports (ie tubing, kneeboarding, sking) much more fun. I reccommend using the supplied bolts for attaching the stabilizer, even though it attaches very well without, Neglecting to do that the first time is why I ended up buying a second one. Still, I believe it is well worth it!

Most likely not, Pretty sure not. It would not fit my 40 hp. And I looked on Cabala's reviews the other day , before I got this one and not too many were happy with this product and all of them with any type of mercury motor stated that it would not fit.Kit
