The Stevens 512 Gold Wing 28 Gauge w/26" Barrel Over/Under Shotgun is a beautiful shotgun having blued with gold-attributed finish and a walnut stock with checkering. The receiver has a gold pheasant engraving. This over/under comes with a 3" chamber, 5 choke tubes, carbon steel barrels, and vent rib with front bead sight. Accepts 2-3/4'' and 3'' shells.

I bought this gun for my dad to rabbit hunt with. It shoots and functions well and is lighter to carry than other guages. overall its a good gun for the money. My only dislike is the finish on the stock and forearm. The stain is "thick" and hides the grain of the wood, almost like its painted.I do think the checkering is nice and very detailed, good design.

An O/U for under $600.00 in a 28 guage? Stock fits nicely, well balanced. It has bonus features such as ejectors & barrell selector. For the money it is a lot nicer than other brands in this price range. In addition it doesn't take two hands to break the barrel open. The only negative for some might be that the safety doesn't reset when the barrels are closed.
