I bought this gun as a skeet gun. For me it is great it doesn't cost a ton but shoots great. Works so well I picked up another one that was just 6 months old for $350. I will be trying it on upland birds come fall. The only issue I have come across is when new it is stiff and you really have to make a point to open it all the way to cock it or it doesn't fire.

I just could not bring myself to pay $1500 - $2500 for a shotgun to put through the abuse that I dole out while out in the field. This is a great gun for the price, and I am very pleased with its performance. For ~$600 I am fine with actually using it no matter what the conditions - snow, sleet rain ... I have no doubts that it will be well worn. At some point, I will buy the shotgun equivalent of a "garage queen" - for those perfect days, but for now I will go the lower cost route, with no guilt about nicks and dings.

my friend told me that under over shotguns had to use brass shells because they wont expand in the barrel and you wont be stuck having to punch out a shell of the shiny silver.Answers

well your friend should maybe look into stuff before telling you that....anyway I have more then one o/u and have shot Winchester ammo with the silver metal and brass ones and have never had any shell stick in the gun from cheep junk shells to 35$ a box shells....see all o/u have ejectors or extractors that lift the shell when you open the gun chance of any shell sticking is slim......the Stevens is a great gun love it more then my browning.....hope this helps youAnswers
