Rated 5 out of 5 Love Them I have had my 8x30 for 7years. I have hunted in pouring rain, snow, and extreme heat and never had a problem with them. They are the absolute best for picking game out in any cover. I have tried others (nikon monarch, zeiss) so when it counts, I have to have my Steiners. December 5, 2009
Rated 4 out of 5 by Great for the $ After a lot of research, I finally settled on the 8X22. My budget was for the best that I could get for under $200. I also wanted a unit with good grips and a easy to turn focus wheel (to be easily turned with gloves on). I used them for the first time last October during the deer season. They were great! The fogging issue discussed below comes from cold weather and the unit coming close to a warm body. No problems with the rain even though I have not had them out in a downpour. You absolutely cannot buy a better pair for the money! February 14, 2008
Rated 1 out of 5 by Junk at a premium price I bought these and used them on a rainy hunt, they leaked and fogged up inside. I was surprised they leaked, even more surprised when they dried out...indicating there was no water tight integrity at all. Also, steiner uses grease around the lens which makes them impossible to ever get clean. I'm saving for a pair of Swarovski's January 29, 2008
Rated 1 out of 5 by 10x 26 Dissapointed I thought with the steiner name that I could not go wrong. The very first day I used them they not only fogged up but the rain water actually entered the internal lense system. also There was a grease that would smear all over the objective lense when trying to clean them. these are supposed to be waterproof. Too bad,,nice small package. December 17, 2007
