Ever thought "it is not possible to fall out of your boat while fishing"? I did. Not true. I was trolling slowly, hit a stump. Boat stopped but I didn't. Thank goodness I had on an inflatable PFD. No matter what kind, always wear a life jacket. Accidents can and do happen.

I haven't had the occasion to use it yet but it makes me feel better that when wading in fast water streams to fly-fish I will have a safety net if I happen to slip of fall in over my head. Besides my wife insisted I had to wear a flotation device if I was going to be wading alone. It is a good idea!
