The Stealth 2000 boat easily fits two adults, their gear and a dog. I bought the Stealth 2000 over the 1200 because I wanted the wider sized cockpit. The extra seat is a must have accessory. The boat floats in about six inches or less of water. Depending how you shift your weight, the rear storage compartment could be under water at times. The boat is stable for hunting or stand up casting while fishing. If you use paddles to power the boat you should be OK. I liked the Stealth so much that I began using it for fishing instead of my 14 foot flat bottom boat. The Stealth gets into tight, shallow places better than my jon boat. However, I would only take my Stealth 2000 onto a lake with primarily calm water.
The boat is rated for a 2 HP motor. If you try to overpower the boat you will probably get wet. When there are two people in the boat it performs very well. I added an electric trolling motor for the times I would be in the boat by myself and that is when my problems began. I had to add some 1/4 plywood reinforcement to the optional motor mount accessory. This was not a big deal and it was because of the motor, not the boat.
If fishing with one person, the additional weight at the rear of the boat (200 pound person, 20 pound electric trolling motor and 60 pound deep cycle marine battery in the storage compartment under the rear seat) causes the boat’s rear carry handle to sometimes dip below the water line and then water gets into the rear storage compartment. This storage compartment is supposed to be water tight but it is not.
So now when I would go fishing by myself I had to better balance the weight load distribution on the boat. Placing the marine battery in the storage compartment under the optional front seat helps somewhat with the weight distribution but that compartment is not designed to hold a Group 27 battery efficiently. The battery moves around too much, the opening is not optimal for putting a Group 27 battery in and out, and the battery posts stick out above the lip of the opening. Plus I lost the dry storage space in this compartment.
The padded dog platform on the front of the Stealth 2000 boat cannot be opened up and turned into a storage compartment (like on the Stealth 1200), nor does the manufacturer offer any type of ABS cover for the dog platform.

Rated 5 out of 5Â by trophyhunter excellent duck boat
I bought this boat last year. It is money well spent. this place is the cheapest i have found it everybody else over $900. This boat is very durable. its lite weight and it will go where ever the ducks are. places others can't get to. plenty of room to haul 2 people plus gear. very stable. fits easily in the back of a pickup. you can also get a motor mount that mounts on the right hand side beside the back set. the most that i put on it is a 40 lbs. thrust trolling motor is plenty to get the job done. if your looking for a great little hunting/ fishing boat this is a great chose. you want be sorry.

could a man possibly stand up in this to use it as a bowfishing boat? could you mount sonar to it?Answers
A:Â
Sonar can be attached with a clamp bracket and they're stable. You can stand up and move more than you'd think, not like a canoe or anything.Answers

I'm not sure why it couldn't be, it's the same as registering a 10-14' jon boat.Details:Â

What type of gas motor would you recomend for this boat or would an electric motor be better?
Answers
A:Â
I have a 2 hp honda gas motor. It weighs 30 lbs and gets about 40 mpg with the stealth 2000. It does not require a battery as it is a hand start. An electric motor plus a battery would weigh over 100 lbs. You need to charge the battery and hope you don't run down on the way to your spot.
My 2hp honda motor will take me anywhere I want to go on a quart of gas.
