The submersible Standard Horizon GX1200 Class D Radio is a fixed mount radio—great for power boating or sailing. The GX1200 replaces older Eclipse+ and Eclipse DSC models. This is an ITU Class D VHF radio with DSC calling. The GX1200 is compliant with FCC specs and has a power output of 1-25 watts. Features include a microphone with channel up/down, 16/9 and HL keys, plus Clear Voice Noise Reduction Technology to eliminate unwanted background noise. Other features include: all USA, international, and Canadian marine channels; GPS position display capacity; illuminated distress button; and NOAA Weather Channels with alert. JIS-7 rating promises 1 meter depth (3.3 ft) for 30 minutes. Note that that is not exactly a fire hose, so mount the radio where it will be protected from spray, and rinse it gently after salt water use to guard against corrosion.
