Stay in communication with the power, performance and reliability of the Explorer GX1600 Fixed Mount VHF Radio. The feature-rich Explorer GX1600 VHF Radio's ultra thin, compact rear case measures only 3.5'' deep, which provides greater mounting flexibility. The Explorer GX1600 is an ITU-R M493 Class D VHF Radio with separate channel 70 receiver, allowing DSC calls to be received even when listening to communications. DSC Position Polling and NMEA input and output lets you easily share your position with other DSC equipped vessels. When connected to an external GPS, the Explorer GX1600 can automatically poll the GPS position of up to four stations, save and navigate to up to 100 waypoints and send your bearing, SOG, COG and time.
In addition to a big, bold dot matrix display with adjustable contrast and brightness to provide a clear picture from your primary station, the Explorer GX1600 boasts RAM3 Second Station Capability that lets you control all VHF, DSC functions from a second station. The Explorer can be set to scan any number of channels with or without a Channel 16 as the priority channel, or simply set up to scan between a priority channel and one other channel (dual watch). The Explorer GX1600 also features 10 pre-programmed NOAA and Canadian weather channels that can be quickly accessed using the dedicated WX key. Overall Dimension: 5.91'' W x 3.35'' H x 3.54'' D. Flush mount cutout: 5.35'' W x 2.80'' H x 2.56'' D. 3-year waterproof warranty.

To better answer your question, please post the model number of the TomTom device that you are trying to connect to the Standard Horizon GX1600 Explorer fixed mount VHF radio. To connect the TomTom GPS to the GX1600, the TomTom GPS would need to be able to output NMEA (National Marine Electronics Association) 0183 data. In 2012 Standard Horizon released the GX1700 Explorer with a built in GPS antenna.
