This case works perfectly for secure storage of valuables and/or a handgun in the trunk of my car. A determined thief with the right tools could probably cut the cable or pick the lock, but it is secure enough to stop a typical smash-and-grab.

Yes. I haven't personally traveled with it, but I have heard that others have. Lock it and put in in your checked luggage with TSA paperwork on top.
