For the money you will be hard pressed to find a match. I have 5 of these and use them from casting crankbaits to jigging tubs. Bass, Walleye, Pike on Lake Erie.

With the price of rods and reels these days, This rod comes in high in the cash for equipment ratio, It almost reminds me of the old falcon Original series rods that i used to use in the 90s, I mainly fish for small mouth on Lake St. Clair these days and i have to say the rod gets the job done and it didn't cost me a days pay, I use a 7 foot medium action, You can throw up to a 1/2 Oz spinner bait or a crank bait with this rod for a nice long cast. Nice rod for the money you won't go wrong. But remember im not throwing into a lot of weeds if your are you will need a heavier action rod.

Bought this rod yesterday, went out fishing yesterday and slammed bass all night. Caught up to a good 20 bass and the setting the hook on this rod is amazing. NIce and stiff for pulling the big boys out of the weeds. Great rod i have the mojo bass aswell but prefer the triumph, much more comfterable in your hand and just a great all around rod

I wanted a St. Croix rod after using a Mojo rod that belonged to someone else. However, I didn't want to break the bank. After research and looking around I decided to purchase one of these rods. I'm glad I did. I use the 7' MH for jiggin' and my texas rigs and I couldn't be happier with its performance. If you're looking for a cheap rod that will perform as good as rods twice the price this is the one for you. I would definetly recommend this tod to anyone not wanting to break the bank to buy a new rod, beginners and avid, experienced bass fishermen.

I've never used the CODE reel, but this rod should work well with any low profile reel. I used mine with round and low profile reels and the rod is great.Top 50 Contributor

would the 6'6" Med action be good for spinnerbaits?Answers

Yes you can fish it all dayTop 250 Contributor

If you're casting small blades (1/8 - 1/4 oz) a 6.6 medium is fine, but if you're casting 3/8 oz or heavier I would suggest a 7' MH because of the weight lure and because of the hook sizes. I think it will cast better and you will get a better hookset with the heavier action rod.A:Â
There are many other St.Croix rods that are better for spinnerbaits than this one. I would go with the Mojo Casting Rod. That was made for spinnerbaits. Remember most spinnerbaits rods are about 7' and require a lot of work. You can even go with the spinning rods they are made for this also.Answers

St. Croix Triumph casting rods are not American made. They were made in China until a couple of years ago then they were made in Mexico. The spacing of the guides are different and so is the guide wrapping. These rods cast differently depending upon where they were made. Look on the base of the rod butt to determine where they were made then check the serial number on the rod to determine the date of manufacture.

no its not. it is the mexico-made version of the premier series. they have the same components though.A:Â
That is one of my favorite things about them. Told they are building a new plant in mexico but these rods will continue to be built in USA:Â

Also, if im catchin 4-5 pound bass, would it be better to go with medium heavy on this rodAnswers
A:Â
I've caught same fish on 6ft and 7ft med/fast Triumph. depends on what lures you are using. I would use med heavy for crank baits.Top 50 Contributor
A:Â
A quality medium action rod can handle 4lb and 5lb bass and would be more fun than a medium-heavy rod, but if you fish in heavy cover you need a stronger rod.Images for this Answer

I believe one this rod only comes in one piece. The one piece rods are much stronger and less hassle versus the two piece models.1 of 1
