Power pedestal I used this item for the first time this week. I have both knees replaced and the height this pedestal gives is great on my knees. June 21, 2012
Good So Far Since I have gone through several Swivel-Eze seat posts in the last 4 years, I thought I would try something new that might last longer. Quality appears to be good, so stay tuned !! June 19, 2012
great purchase The seat pedestal was easily assemblied and to install on the seat. With a single touch of the lever i had full 7 inches of adjustment, so i could be comfortable at which ever height i desired June 5, 2012
Good purchase This purchase was a replacement for the one I bought 8 years ago. I would caution the use of this around salt water because the shaft corrodes and on the old one froze in place and was none functional in going up and down after sitting without use for a couple of months. Still I was pleased with the performance and if I get 8 years out of this one I would buy another. May 2, 2012

If you do not already have a Deck Base, you would need to order one of the KingPin Deck Bases. Example item numbers:
38-540-276-00
38-540-264-00
38-540-262-00

A:
IF YOU LOOK UNDER THE PEDESTAL MOUNT AND THERE IS A NUT WELDED TO THE BOTTOM YOU CAN USE A THREADED POST HOWEVER IF YOU GET A NON THREADED POST IT WILL WORK IN A THREADED PIN BASE AND IT WILL WORK BETTER BECOUSE THE THREADED POSTS TEND TO CORRODE AND LOCK THEMSELVES FAST IF YOU DONT REMOVE THEM A LOT.

A:
my experience with pin peds is that the threaded end is 1/2 to 3/4 inch long and myself and my friend have just cut them off because they get tight from dirt rust or whatever and are real hard to get out. alight oil on the pin and it is easy to remove.with a flashlite you can see the threads on the end of the base or in my friends boat he can reach under and feel the threads. I have never lost a ped with just the pin, hope this helps

I like non threaded, they don't tend to stick. Advantage of threaded, it doesn't rotate-which is good for butt seat
