Springfield Armory® XD Sub-Compact Pistol
First of Many
I purchased this for my personal protection about a month and a half ago. I love it. As a Texas girl raised on all sorts of firearms, this is one of my favorites. I love the grip extender on the clip. I also love that there is hardly any recoil. My initial consideration was the Ruger .38, but after reviewing both, I opted for the XD Subcompact. I am planning to add to my Springfield family in the future. My only complaint, and this could be because it is new, is that the cartridges are not easily loaded, even with the provided speed loader. It takes a bit of effort to get the ammo into the cartridges.

I have had this gun for about 4 years and i love it still. i have bigger hands and before i even shot it i bought a small pinky grip for the smaller clip. fits me so perfectly.
I didnt want to spend a fortune on my carry gun and i went with this one. i can tell a difference in quality from my sig p226 but i am very impressed at how accurate the pistol is even at distance. i love my xd and would absolutely recommend it for someone's carry weapon.
since it is a .40, the handle is wide and sometimes prints pretty bad. I have an in the pants holster and you can see a small print if im only wearing a t shirt. but i would rather print and have 10 +1 in .40 cal than not print with a single stack system with less ammo.

Love this gun
I love this gun. It shot smooth straight out of the box. I was also pleasantly surprised at how little recoil it had for a gun of its caliber and it breaks down quick. The only reason I didn't give it five stars is because I had hoped for it to be my CCW, but being female, 5'6" and 135 pounds, this thing is near impossible to conceal on my frame. So, if you're small and looking for a CCW, keep in mind this might be a bit bulky to fit that need.

I purchased this gun several weeks ago. I immediately went and put a couple of hundred rounds through it. I would highly recommend this gun. Just as the other reviewers commented, it has a low recoil, and is highly accurate at both 7 and 15 yards. The low recoil can probably be attributed somewhat to the weight. It's a tad bit on the heavy side for a sub-compact. What other reviewers didn't say is that this gun comes with a nice compliment of options. It comes packaged with three magazines (two extended, and one short), a speed loader (not great, but does the trick), a hard plastic belt holster, and a two-magazine belt holster. For the quality of the gun, the packaged options, and the price,... this gun is really really hard to beat!!! I highly recommend it. There is an XD-S model about to be released. It's a slim version of this XD. I will be standing in line.
