This is the best product there is for training a perfect hunting buddy. My lab was a shelter dog and it has taken a lot more effort to make him into a duck dog. However, I trained him on the 5 commands of duck hunting; stay, come, sit, down, heel. He took to fetching without a problem. This collar helped to reinforce commands he knew already. Do not use it to teach new commands. The thing it helped the most is getting him to stay until I release him to fetch. He is turning into a fine duck dog with this collar and will be ready for next season. 5 stars for this product, and I recommend it to everybody. Rescue a hunting buddy, you don't have to buy one from a breeder!!!

This is a great product to buy. I was a little nervous buying a shock collar because I know nothing about them. I am very happy I purchased this one. Instructions were great and the dog training manual that came with it is good. The collar is a nice material that doesn't let the unit slide around on your dogs neck. The remote is nice and small and fits nice in my waterfowl hunting jacket. The whole unit feels very durable. Deff and A+ in my book.

very pleased with the SportDOG Brand Wetland Hunter Collar. Our dog is a Austalian Shepherd and they can be very hyper at times easily distracted. we have a home base collar and this just completes the control of him. only takes a beep to get his attention.

I purchased this for my 14 month old lab. Since we have started working with this he has become much more obedient. This is not for teaching dogs new commands but for reinforcing known commands. I was able to control him much easier in the blind and it now has become more of a joy to hunt with him instead of another "training hunt." I have been amazed with the transformation into a much more calm and enjoyable pet and hunting companion. Once you find the correct setting it does not seem to hurt the dog just gets his immediate attention and obedience.

I bought one of these some time back and it never did give me 400 yds service and now I can't make it work at 100 yds

For consistent results at longer ranges, hold the Remote Transmitter in a vertical position away from your body and above your head.
