Spike-It™ Color-C-Lector 4.2 5 17 17
getting use to I just bought this selector a few weeks ago, Im starting to understand how it works. We fished a crappie tournament at Pumatuning Lake in PA and I used the color selector to identify colors and we weighed in 5 fish over 5.60 pounds and the selected colors worked fine. This is a good product, the only concern I have is some of the depth identifiers came off, need to come up with a different way to mark depth on the cable. May 8, 2012
Not Impressed Doe not comare to the quality of the earlier version. The quality went south on this newer version. Decal on the face plate was offset and the decals that are used for measuring depth came off after numerous ( are not water proof) uses. On a scale of 1 to 10, I give this substandard product a 2. Great Buy I use the Color-C-Lector for bass fishing. I am very impressed. In shallow water frequently I have the same number show up on the screen. That color produces fish. It is a color I wouldn't have thought about using without the Color-C-Lector. Great for anglers that are unsure of successful colors based on water conditions. August 8, 2011
Has it's place It does a good job of giving you different colors for different days. Likely your lake will be fairly consistent in the readings from day to day. So you end up throwing mostly those colors all the time and end up shying away from all your other colors in ur tackle box even tho you have had success. It tells you what the fish can SEE best; it doesnt mean they will hit it. "Red" could be the color recommended but they may be hitting perch colors cuz it matches the forage. It's another helpful tool but not the "end all." Excellent for getting a handle on new waters and giving you a place to start. May 27, 2011

My color C lector has a screw on the bottom of the case. Remove the screw and the case will separate into two parts exposing the 9 volt battery.

First you have to detrimine the water clarity of where you are fishing so you will know which line of colors you need you go by. Normal rule of thumb is "clear" usually has visibility down to 10+ feet---"stained" water normally means you can't see much beyond 3' down "muddy" would be that you can not see beyond a foot down. Lower the sensor down to the depth that you plan to fish after you determine the water clarity and then just look and see whatr color is recomended. If you are going to fish on the bottom then lower to the bottom and get your reading. Each time you move around on the water you need to check your readings because sunlight, variations in water clarity will result in different color recomendations.

Honestly, I use it now about 99% of the time and I've had positive results at least 80% of the time that I've used it. But that could be because I didn't have the exact color that I needed to match the color-c-lectors choice in my box. I'm fixing that though, each time I go to the bait shop I look for the matching colors. That's why I Love going to the Bass Pro Shop. They have hundreds of colors to choose from. ( And no I don't work for them ) it's just the truth. And I would say that If it puts fish in your ice chest I would say yes it's worth the $.

A:
How the Color-C-lector works is for the first 1-2 feet if you can’t see the receiver it muddy water 2-4 feet and you can’t see the receiver its semi-clear. 4 feet and over it’s clear. You look at the number on the screen and it will tell you what color to use either Florissant colors or non-Florissant color which would be up to you. You want to check your water visibility often with your color-c-lector often. Be mindful of where your boat shadow is because your receiver will detect light saturation. If you have another questions just ask
