Knot Strength? This summer I have lost three bass (and lures) when 10 lb. SpiderWire broke or slipped at the knot. I used the same improved clinch knot that has worked well for 35 years of fishing. Last night's lost fish was my biggest fish of the year at an est. 6+ lb. I'm going to change line today and will not use SpiderWire in the future. Anyone with similar experience, please write a product review, I'm anxious to hear if it's the line or my technique. July 6, 2006
Tried it - Not Really Impressed. I just recently got back into fishing, so I've been trying various monos to see what fits my needs. I bought the 14# Lo-Vis Green to try on my Revo Premier/Carrot Stix. Spooled it as I applied KVD lubricant and let it sit overnight. First cast the next day and the line looked like a spring dangling in front of my reel. After a couple hours fishing, I could really tell the difference between the "wet" line and the dry line on the spool. I never noticed that BIG of difference with brands like Suffix. I had no problems with knot or line strength. I actually landed a 22" 8+lb PIG of a Bass (biggest of the year) on this line. But in the end, Spiderwire did NOT pass the test. Too much line memory and obviously absorbs water after a couple hours. October 29, 2008
Bad line. I used this line on a new baitcast reel of the same make and modle I've used before, so I know it's not the reel. I had a terrable time with backlash with this line, I think do to its' high memory. When it did back lash it didn't just tangle it knoted its' self so I had no option other than cuting that section off. I think this is a bad line. I've not had this mouch trouble with other mono's. I do not recommend for baitcasters, It might do better on spinning but I won't be the one testing it. May 9, 2010
Luv this Line This is fantastic line. It is very castable, and extremely sensitive. It is not however a line that should be abused. It is very thin and low stretch, and that means...... Change this line out frequently. Use common sense and the drag on your reel, and take advantage of this very sensitive and thin mono. Use it like Triline XT, and you wont like it. If you want a sensitive mono, and know how to use a drag properly, this is awesome stuff. I'm not crazy about the XXX, but this stuff is great. April 19, 2011

Some people do it, but I never splice line. its not worth losing a big fish to save a couple bucks on line.

Why would you want to do that???

If you have to splice two similar diameter lines together, the best method is a blood knot...

Look online and search the terms "uni to uni knot" that is an easy to tie knot that you can use to join just about any combination of lines, example's, mono to mono, braid to braid, mono to braid ect...
