Interchangeable compensators help the 460XVR fire .460 Mag, .45 Colt and .454 Casull cartridges. Extra large frame helps the 460XVR deliver low perceived recoil on all loads. Long 8.38'' barrel with HI-VIZ® interchangeable front site and adjustable white outline rear sight on top. Synthetic grip.

Rated 5 out of 5 by No Regrets This gun is all that I thought it would be! I purchased it for deer hunting and fitted it with a Burris 2x20 scope. The first time I took it to the range and shot a 460 round, every head in the place turned and looked. I was impressed at the power but surprised by how easy the recoil was to handle. I could shoot 3" patterns at 50 yards first try. For hunting, I have a bandoleer holster so carrying it through the woods is easier than carrying a long gun. I shot a 240 grain 454 round and bagged a deer the first try but I think a 45 long colt would do just fine for deer. The trigger action is incredibly smooth and light when used single action. Double action is considerably heavier. Just looking at this gun one can see the craftsmanship of S and W. March 14, 2014
Rated 5 out of 5 by Not for "boys"... I have enjoyed my 5 1/2 " 460 mag for several years. Clearly it is the best handgun I have ever owned. But, it is not for "the weak at heart". It roars, it's heavy, it's accurate, and it commands respect especially with the 460 load. I bought an ALASKA holster to distribute the weight and have every confidence that I carry significant protection from ANYTHING human or animate. AND, it is great fun to shoot. February 20, 2014
Rated 5 out of 5 by 1 good gun the only con is the weight, everything else is perfect can shoot 45's, 454's and the 460 so ammo is always available. very accurate, recoil not too bad with 460 ammo. Just be careful there is a lot of blast to the sides from compensator, and it will go through railroad tie and is very loud with hornandy 460 ftx 200 gr. it is expensive but I think worth it April 20, 2013

I have had no problems so far but I've only shot about 150 rounds due to the cost. This is not a gun that I want to take to the range too often.

I attend to mount a scope on this pistol. Are scope rings included with this revolver? If not will standard rings work?
