Rated 3 out of 5 by QC is Lacking Just bought this one. Good shooter - 500+ rounds with a variety of ammo and just one failure to eject and 2 failure to feed errors, which is not bad for a new gun. My gripe with this gun is the manual safety. Out of the box, it was STIFF and nearly impossible to operate. I ended up taking the gun apart and found out why - The action cover plate, safety lever and the trigger bar all had burrs on them from the stamping process. These parts - which are meant to glide smoothly - were digging into each other and the frame. After about 1/2 hour with a very fine hone, I was able to remove the offending burrs and polish the metal. Now, the safety operates smoothly. Obviously, Quality Control at S&W is slipping badly. Rated 5 out of 5 by Nice Pistol Very nice pistol. Bought it for my wife to learn on and she really likes it. Lots of fun, easy to use and clean. No firing problems and seems to be very accurate. June 17, 2013
Rated 5 out of 5 by Good pistol I love this pistol. I have put over 500 rounds through it without any trouble. It is accurate, easy to use and easy to take down for cleaning. When I go to the range I shoot my bigger pistols and always finish off the day shooting this gun. It's fun and less expensive to shoot. May 20, 2013
Rated 5 out of 5 by Fun & Accurate Fun little gun, easy for anyone to shoot. We havent had a single jam or problem & have fired over 2000 rounds thru it. It is the favorite firearm of my girlfriend & 12 yr old son at the range. They shoot it till the ammo is gone. April 13, 2013

A:
I have never tried it, but it may jam using the shot. It takes a good bit of pressure to eject the round and most 22 LR are finicky about the powder charge.

A:
Yes, but with all 22 semi-autos, shotshells will not cycle, you have to use them as single shot, and manually rack the slide for the next shot.

Not sure what it is made of, possibly cast aluminum. The trigger pull is fairly short and average in weight. I noticed a real long pull on the sig sauer. The rear sight is fully adjustable and needed to be adjusted out of the box. once we did it was consistantly accurate.

I own one of these and its a excellent target pistol for the money. Mostly made of steel and some plastic for the grips. Very well designed for the price. Have about 8000 rounds thru mine already in over a year. Yes the sights are fully adjustable and the trigger pull is dead on at the tip where I like it as well.
