I own more sunglasses than any person ever needs; sort of a collector of fine eyewear. Among the collection are several Mauis, and more than 15 various Smith models. My favorite among them all are the Outlaws. Although all the Smiths are consistently top quality, especially the glass lens models, the Outlaws are the most comfortable (and I think stylish). I have the polarchromic copper mirror lens, and I have never worn lens that were in the same league. Smith is awesome!

I spend most of my fishing time on the flats of southwest Florida. Sight-fishing for Redfish and snook demands that you see the fish before he sees you and the Hideout gives me that advantage. The Hideout gives excellent clarity and blocks the sun on the sides better than any of the brands I have owned in the past. I highly recommend them to sight-fishers.

Like all Smith glasses I own and have used, the lens quality is unmatched. I make my living flyfishing, so it's important to have high quality sunglasses when spotting fish. These frames look great, they are a tad on the small side for my face, but they actually spread out a little with time. I love the way these frames look, but they don't have the coverage that some of the other frames do, like the Touchstone, or even the Backdrop.
