These frames have guided me on many fishing journeys and just recently on trek up Mt. Churripo in Costa Rica. During the voyage we hit a 4 hour monsoon of rain and mist. The Chiefs help up with protection and the lenses helped guide me through the storm and to the top of the mountain. I love the coverage on the face, not a single glare gets in.....a great purchase for the cost. For function and purpose these are a must in the pack.

Rated 5 out of 5 by OutsmartingFish Ideal for Fly Fishing
The Cheifs are the ultimate fly fishing glasses. Super comfy, phenomincal clarity, and the versatility of the polarchromic lenses is a huge bonus. They provide maximum coverage to both protect your eyes and keep the sun from sneaking in - no matter where it's at.

Rated 1 out of 5 by Squinter Nice quality, but don't get dark enough
Great sunglasses for low light, but they don't get dark enough in bright sun. They are suppose to automatically adjust to the sun conditions, but I don't notice any difference in bright sun light, and I end up switching to my old sunglasses. Disappointing, because everything else (quality, coverage, etc) is top-notch.

My friend works for Smith and bought me a pair of these Chief sunglasses. They fit great and I loved them, however after having them for a week there was already a chip in the right lens right in my line of sight. I haven't dropped them or used them in any extreme manner. I sent them back to be warrantied and they wanted $80, the sunglasses didn't even cost my friend that much. I went with the highest quality lens because I wanted them to last for a while. Apparently pulling them in and out of the padded case they came with chipped the lens. Now I am stuck with these and I will be going back to my loyal Oakley brand. They have never steered me wrong and have always backed their products.
