I bought this pistol to sharpen my skills. It is quite accurate to about 30-40 yards which is a welcome surprise. The impressive thing is the muzzle velocity ( over 400 FPS) when the CO2 cartridge is reasonably fresh. I read elsewhere a certain .45 ACP pistol has a muzzle velocity of 800-900 FPS ( a military rifle round has MV of about 2400 FPS) so this BB pistol is really quite good and not a toy. The pistol is designed to be a replica and has all the feel etc etc but it is only half the weight of a real pistol. So, excellent for the purpose of improving one's performance.

The power drops a % per shot. One would hunt will a full CO2 tube only. the first 20-40 shots will be fairly accurate. Loading is difficult and I cannot understand the reason behind the design of the clip. One drops BB's too easy and the BB's jam in the clip when loading. The grip is quite big, not for a child.

Rated 5 out of 5Â by Hall8762 Smith & Wesson M&P 177 BB gun
I own two Smith & Wesson M&P handguns. The S&W M&P 177 BB gun I bought I use for practice. BBs are cheaper than real cartriges. The 177 has good weight and a good trigger pull. It is very accurite. I am a Handgun Instructor and I think this is a good, safe practice gun, when you do not have time to go to the Range.

I could get 100+ shots. The power decreases a % per shot. The first 20 shot will kill grouse. The last 40 are a waste of BB's. Get a pump up and never pay again. Get a pump up and maintain your pressure.Answers

no it is hard plastic but the clip is. there is a weight in the handle so it feels like the real thingAnswers

No! with a copperhead BB at 5.1 grams at a velocity of 480 FPS would only give 2.61 foot pounds Energy. For a rabbit clean kill a Energy foot pounds need to be about 11 foot pounds with a .177 pellet. BBs is not a good chouse for rabbit or Squirrel hunting.Answers

No! The term is called blowback an action that simulates the real thing for an air pistol The downside of blowbacks is that it uses up CO2 giving less shots. The Smith & Wesson M&P .177 BB Pistol can shoot to about 240-250 per one 12g CO2 cylinder.Top 500 Contributor
A:Â
in the description it says that it is full blowback, which means that it will cycle after the shot.Answers
