Rated 5 out of 5 by Great pistol I have had this pistol for 4 or 5 weeks now and have put 600 rounds through it with no problems at all. Feels real good in the hand, light weight and very easy to take down. At first the trigger was a little gritty but after a few hundred rounds it is broken in. In a lot of reviews they compare the M&P to Glocks which I can see. But I like the feel a lot better and it fits my hand better and if it didn’t I could always put on one of the other back straps. I have bigger hands and the large back strap feels great. When my girlfriend is shooting I can put on the small one in under 30 seconds. It shoots very accurate and recoil isn’t bad at all. Perfect size for a CPL carry you can’t see it at all. On one of the forums I am on there are people that have shot thousands of rounds through it and had no problems. One of the guys put around over 50,000 rounds through it before having to swap out the recoil spring witch S&W sent to him free of charge. All in all a great pistol and a must have. January 20, 2014
Rated 5 out of 5 by first compact semi I grew up loving revolvers, but I love this gun. Plenty of power and punch for such a small thing, Trigger pull is smooth and even once you learn the trigger safety. The different sized grips are easy to change out. I've compared with my buddy's Glock 22, 23 and FNP, about a dead even with the Glock 23 for me on accuracy, feel, and trigger pull. Even my friend who is a glock person really loved this gun. I'll usually bang out 100-130 rnds at the range with no problem. Weight is very balanced on this gun as well even fully loaded. November 16, 2012
Rated 5 out of 5 by amazing firearm this is a ccw must have. i am a huge fan of s&w and this pistol is incredible. not to heavy when fully loaded with winchester dpx 165 grain rounds. as accurate as can be and very nice to shoot. the different size grips are easy to change out and the magazine extensions are the perfect size. i am not a glock guy. they feel too loose for me. this is a more solid built weapon and i trust it 100%. A:
It will not fire if the magazine is out of the gun. I wouldn't call it a "safety" feature. I'll leave it at that.

A magazine safety is a feature that renders the trigger inoperable when the magazine is not locked properly into a semi-automatic pistol/rifle.
